Latent TB screening scheme

We are part of a pilot screening programme, aiming to offer ‘Latent’ TB testing for people in higher risk categories.

The target population for the LTBI testing programme will be individuals registered in Liverpool GP practices and who meet national eligibility criteria, with exclusion of students:

a) born or spent >6 months in high TB incidence country (list of countries in the document attached)

b) entered the UK within the last 5 years (including where entry was via other countries (eg within EU/EEA)

c) aged 16−35 years

d) no history of TB either treated or untreated

e) Never screened for TB in UK
