Cervical Cancer Prevention Week

cervical screening prevention 2014

This week (19-26 January) is Cervical Cancer Prevention week 2014.

If you’re a woman aged between 25 and 64 you should have received a letter inviting you for a cervical smear, which is a way of spotting the early signs of cervical cancer.  You can ask at reception for a nurse appointment for a smear, or just come along to one of our walk in sessions, which are Monday – Friday 8.30am-4pm.

In addition we have a sexual health drop in clinic at our Ropewalks site every Monday evening from 5-7pm.  This is led by a female doctor and a female nurse.

Here’s a post on the Liverpool CCG blog from one of our GPs, Dr Gaynor, writing about this simple test that could save your life.
