National Smile Month, organised by the British Dental Health Foundation, is the UK’s largest annual oral health campaign which is running from 19 May to 19 June 2014.
In support of this, Liverpool Community Health NHS Trust’s Dental Health Team is encouraging people to swap their old, worn out toothbrushes for a free new one, together with a free tube of Family Fluoride Toothpaste.
From Tuesday 27th – Friday 30th May, the Dental Health Team will be providing a free Tooth Brush Exchange for children, adults and families.
The Tooth Brush Exchange will be operating at the new NHS Health Information Centre based on Hanover Street in Liverpool City Centre. Throughout the week people can drop in any time between 10am – 4pm to make their toothbrush exchange, and pick up a free tube of Family Fluoride Toothpaste too.
Members of the Dental Health Team will also be on hand throughout the week to chat to people and offer free, professional information and advice on how to brush properly, look after your teeth and keep your mouth healthy.
In addition to the Toothbrush Exchange, the Dental Health Team will also be running a poster competition around the theme of dental health in conjunction with Special Schools across Liverpool.
Over the coming weeks, they’ll also be hosting a series of community road show events taking place at each of the following venues and times:
• Thursday 8th May (9.00 – 11.30am) – Picton Neighbourhood Health Centre
• Tuesday 13th May (9.00 – 11.30am) – South Liverpool Treatment Centre
• Thursday 15th May (9.00 – 11.30am) – Kensington Neighbourhood Health Centre
